This week’s cybersmart challenge was pretty chill and was easy to do. It has made it easier for me to review on things and now I can make my own fake advertisement.

Athletics Day!

Athletics was 2 days ago(29/11/24), there were 3 house colors, Pink, Orange and purple and I was in one of the worst colors to find in clothes, Orange. Although it was hard to find something orange I just wore a black shirt with a bit of orange. There were multiple games set for each of those groups which were split with their similar class year. Around 9 in the morning we had some games on the court, then later on in the day we moved to the field and had more activities such as boot throwing, three sticks, egg run, 400 metre, 200 metre and 100 metre. I ran in the 100 metre run and participated in the boot throwing plus three sticks. I came 3rd in the 100 metres, out of the Year 8 girls. The day was pretty hot but that didn’t affect the day for me and tons of other players, I can’t wait to do one hopefully next year.

Manaiakalani Film Festival – Sina The Explorer (Movie Review)

This movie was created in room 11 at Pt England school and out of all the Manaiakalani films this film was the most creative and most interesting movie to watch, in my opinion. This movie was inspired by Dora the explorer and they came up with Sina the explorer who is Dora’s Samoan cousin and the other characters included in their story was swiper, backpack, map and boots who I’m guessing is a monkey but looks like a dog lol.

The reason why I think this film was the most interesting is because of their editing like the music timing green screen and speed, not only does the editing add a touch, is also the acting like it is on point including the singing.

The story is about Sina who needs help capturing swiper who has stolen her bag unexpectedly which happened to have her delicious Sapasui(Her lunch)so she calls for her trusty hand dandy map which was surprisingly not inside her bag(Lucky).

Her map then appears and explains to her that she has 3 paths she could go: something tree, dangerous dairy and the jungle gym. They first went to the Something tree where Swiper was gripped on and brushed his body through the tree, curled and twirled and soon became too high for Sina to climb or even reach. Sina and her friends (Boots and the map) probably left for. a while and the swiper vanished off somewhere else.

Later on Swiper popped up at the dangerous dairy where Sina had coincidentally spotted Swiper entering inside the dairy. She walked inside to confront Swiper a get her backpack back but Swiper just wouldn’t budge and kept hiding. Couple of seconds after Sina had tried to find Swiper at the dairy, Swiper had once again escaped from Sina’s sight.

They chased and turned as Swiper was becoming closer and closer then suddenly they arrived at the jungle gyms which they started crawling, walking over a bridge, climbing ladders, sliding down slides, making it through ropes, swinging past the flying fox and FINALLY they had managed to capture swiper and said…

“Swiper no swiping’ Which is originated and is a classic saying made by Dora herself. I loved this film and hopefully in the future I can see more episodes of Sina the explorer or other types of cartoons that I’ve watched as a young kid!

– Hobbiton

Yesterday (12/11/24) 12 students from our school and 3 other school with about 95-100 days of attendance were chosen to go to Hobbiton which was a two hour drive there and back. I was luckily selected because of my 99-100 attendance and it was even better because it was a free experience when it originally cost 60.00-$306.00, depending on your selection in packs. When the 12 kids from our school and some other schools first arrived, we had a free snack from the gift shop which was two ham cheese sandwiches, one ginormous apple, one chocolate cookie with chocolate icing and topped with peanuts plus one apple or an orange juice.

After having a snack on some benches, some of the students and teachers went to the bathroom and so did I but little did I and some of my friends of the opposite gender as me walked in separate bathrooms we saw the wrong gender in the wrong bathroom, there was a old man in the ladies room and a woman in the men’s bathroom. I looked away in disbelief and when my friends told me there was a woman in their bathroom I started laughing in confusing.

Later on after that incident in the bathrooms we waited in line for the 11:40 bus to get us to hobbiton, the movie set up. When the bus arrived all my friends and I were trying to contain our joy inside to not run towards the bus but it failed half way through and we let our tentation run our bodies. Later on I almost got in trouble but it was worth it. The bus was huge, there were heaps of seats and there was even a TV talking about what we were about to experience and it hyped up the whole bus but we kept quiet throughout the rest of the ride but not long after we hopped out and could already see all the little round doors and a small garden.

During the walk they told us some facts to keep us entertained, one of them was a fact about that most of the hobbits houses that aren’t recorded inside don’t have have anything inside the hobbit home unless the door is kept open by a little bit and you can only see a peek of some stuff or on the window. The experience was pretty cool and I recommend that if you want to go to cool places or get cool things from school then start coming to school every day to up your attendance.
